Ten children were allegedly held captive under the cover of an underground storm and sexually abused for up to three years.
The victims, the youngest as young as two, were raped, tied to chairs and tortured with animal shock collars, according to court documents. The police said the alleged sex trafficking ring was formed by the parents of some of the child victims.
According to Fox-owned WBRC-TV, six of the children were allegedly drugged before being taken to a bunker in Brent, Alabama, about 55 miles from Birmingham.
Bieber County police released photos of the bunker, which looks like a humble storm shelter but is actually a stronghold for evil deeds.
But the interior of the bunker was shabby. One room contained a dirty mattress, a chair, a fan, and a chest of drawers.
Bieber County Assistant District Attorney Brian Jones said the children were sexually assaulted after being tied to a bed.
The perpetrators of this criminal gang earn up to $1,000 a night.
Police said the suspects would pay for appointments and sexually assault children during those appointments.
According to ABC’s WBMA-LD, Alabama police launched an investigation after receiving a report of suspected child abuse in February.
Their investigation has led to the arrest of seven people, one of whom is allegedly linked to a gang that profits from child sex crimes.
They face charges including human trafficking, rape, sodomy, and kidnapping.
A man named Timothy St. John is facing four counts of sodomy and human trafficking, as well as charges of bestiality and animal cruelty.
William McIlroy was charged with four counts of first-degree rape and six counts of human trafficking and sodomy.
According to court documents seen by Al.com, McIlroy admitted to raping at least one girl.
Dalton Terrell was arrested in April and charged with six counts of first-degree rape and 12 counts of sodomy, according to the Bieber County Sheriff’s Department.
The 21-year-old man is accused of having sex with children between the ages of 3 and 16 in the past year.
He confessed to the police that he had had a sexual relationship with a child.
Bieber County Sheriff Jody Wade warned: “Violators will be subject to the harshest penalties of the law.”
Meanwhile, the victim has been taken over by Alabama Human Resources.
Mr. Jones called the abuse “unimaginable.”
